Panini America Provides Detailed First Look at 2018 Prime NASCAR Racing (Gallery)
Panini America’s Prime Hockey brand made an instant impact with collectors when it first debuted as a memorabilia-based masterpiece during the 2011-12 season. The product raised eyebrows and dropped jaws immediately based almost entirely upon an unparalleled memorabilia roster that helped deliver some of the most unique trading cards ever manufactured. The autograph lineup was pretty spectacular, too. That auspicious beginning paved the way for successful mainstream Prime Hockey releases in 2012-13 and 2013-14. And then . . . it was gone.
But after more than three years away, Prime is back and it’s unlike any Prime you’ve ever seen — because it’s honoring the superstars of NASCAR. Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America in mid-November, each hobby box of 2018 Prime NASCAR Racing (seven cards per box, eight boxes per case) will deliver, on average, three autographs, three memorabilia cards and one base or parallel card.
2018 Prime Racing will deliver more jumbo-prime memorabilia cards than any NASCAR product yet and more on-card autographs than any NASCAR product this season. Additional highlights are the product include . . .
Multi-swatch memorabilia cards featuring up to four pieces of race-used material, including autographed versions.
Numerous beautiful jumbo-prime swatches from drivers’ firesuits, gloves and shoes.
On-card autographs from NASCAR’s elite drivers are featured in the 20-card Shadowbox Signatures insert that features base (numbered to 99 or less), Holo Gold (numbered to 50 or less) and Black 1/1 parallel versions.
Clear Silhouettes Dual features two memorabilia swatches from the best drivers in NASCAR.
Quad Materials Autographs features autographs paired with four pieces of race-used memorabilia and includes two different 1/1 parallels — Black and Laundry Tag.
There are just 50 base sets available to build in 2018 Prime NASCAR Racing but there are also Holo Gold (numbered to 25) and Black 1/1 parallels.
We’ll have plenty more on 2018 Prime NASCAR Racing in the coming weeks here on The Knight’s Lance.
